When people step into our flagship store on a cloudy London day, they are immediately transported to our paradise; we’ve got palm trees standing tall, vibrant beachwear lining the walls, reggae music singing sweetly from the speakers and rum cocktails on ice. This may just be the perfect summer spot. With light streaming through our floor to ceiling windows, even on the coldest days, our store is a utopia of high summer.
Having a Rum Time
Rum is a huge part of the culture in the West Indies. Although the origin of the name ‘Rum’ is widely unknown, there are a few explanations. The first explanation is that it's a derivative from the Latin word ‘Saccharum’ which translates as ‘Sugar’ which relates to Molasses, Rum’s main ingredient. The second suggestion is that it springs from the old-fashioned British slang, ‘Rum’, contextually speaking: 'Having a Rum time' would mean to have the best time. And in true Love Brand fashion, having a ‘Rum’ time is what we’re all about!

Each month a fresh and cool Rum brand will be coming in, taking over our Rum shack and serving up their take on a Rum cocktail. In June, Don Papa, the vivacious and Sugalandia-inspired Rum brought a taste of the Philippines to Love Brand. And as the summer continued its high, Aluna Rum stocked up behind the bar, bringing the Caribbean to our taste buds with their coconut Rum. Meet Long Tail
We have also partnered up with Long Tail, a new mixer on the scene – having launched only a few months ago, they are introducing some unique flavours including Blood Orange, Ginger Lime, and Island Spice, all of which provide new experiences of drinking Rum. With their bold flavours we are sure that even non-Rum-drinkers will be converted to love our cocktails.
We encourage one and all to pull up a bar stool, have a drink on the house with friends and reminisce with us about past summers (and dream of future one).
